The project begins...

digital:works is grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund and Unite the Union for supporting this new project to capture the oral histories of retired Thames Dock Workers.

In September we will be working with two schools to research the history with retired dock workers and historians, both on the Thames via a boat trip and at the Museum of London Docklands.

Some of the children will learn filming, sound capture and interviewing skills while others will be writing historical and creative pieces. A film, exhibition and booklet will be just some of the outcomes.
